PRODUCT: Bacteriological peptone is the product of an enzymatic digestion (by trypsin and pepsin) of animal tissues, and as such composed of a mixture of amino acids, including essential amino acids, and low molecular weight peptides. It is widely used as a supplement for microbiological culture media, as it serves as a nutritious hydrolysate.
