PRODUCT:
Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS) is a commonly used buffer solution in biological research. It is an aqueous balanced salt solution containing sodium phosphate, potassium phosphate, sodium chloride and potassium chloride It´s osmolality and ion concentration match those of the human body (isotonic), and are non-toxic to most cells.
Phosphate Buffers with pH ranging from 5.8-8.0 (at 25ºC) can be prepared. It is often convenient to prepare a concentrated solution (10X or 20X) taking into account that upon dilution the pH increases slightly.
This product is a 0.2µm-filtered and autoclaved-sterile 10 times concentrated solution of PBS. Upon dilution, the pH will be 7.4 (25ºC), which is suitable for most applications.
