PRODUCT: Peptone is a pancreatic digest of casein and as such composed of a balanced mixture of amino acids, including essential amino acids, and low molecular weight peptides. It can be used as a supplement for microbiological culture media, for the production of vaccines, toxins, enzymes and other proteins in fermentation processes. It serves as a nutritious hydrolysate, especially for organisms that prefer peptides over amino acids.
