The Real Time PCR detection Kit Avian Fecal Transmission Viruses Panel (Avian Reovirus, Avian infectious bronchitis virus, Infectious bursal disease virus and avian infectious bronchitis virus GI-23 lineage) comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Avian reovirus, Avian infectious bronchitis virus, Infectious bursal disease virus and Avian infectious bronchitis virus GI-23 lineage detection by using qPCR.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Avian reovirus (also known as Avian orthoreovirus) is a double-stranded RNA virus from the family Reoviridae that infects both domestic and wild birds. In poultry, it causes mainly arthritis, tenosynovitis and respiratory disease. Transmission occurs through the faecal-oral route, and there is no treatment available. Avian infectious bronchitis virus is a highly contagious coronavirus responsible for avian infectious bronchitis, a respiratory disease affecting chickens. It is transmitted by airborne particles, direct chicken-to-chicken contact, and indirectly by mechanical spread. Infectious bursal disease virus is a double-stranded RNA virus causing immunosuppression and mortality in poultry, usually between 3 to 6 weeks of age. While two serotypes exist, only serotype 1 causes disease in poultry. It is highly contagious, transmitted via faeces and spread by fomites. Avian infectious bronchitis virus GI-23 lineage, a member of the genus Gammacoronavirus, infects chickens and other species such as turkeys, pheasants, and guinea fowl, where it is also associated with disease.
