The Real Time PCR detection Kit Avian influenza type A virus subtypes H and N Panel (H5 and N2) comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Avian influenza type A virus subtypes H5 and N2 detection by using qPCR.

GENERAL INFORMATION:Influenza A virus causes influenza in birds and some mammals. Influenzavirus A is a genus of the Orthomyxoviridae family. Strains of all subtypes of influenza A virus have been isolated from wild birds, although disease is uncommon. Some isolates of influenza A virus cause severe disease both in domestic poultry and, rarely, in humans. Influenza A viruses are negative-sense, single-stranded, segmented RNA viruses. The several subtypes are labelled according to an H number (hemagglutinin) and an N number (neuraminidase). Influenza A is generally recognized as Avian influenza, sometimes called avian flu, and colloquially, bird flu. Subtype H5N2 revealed close genetic relationship with low pathogenic strains and is more related with ducks and non-gallinaceous species. The assay was designed to cover sequences from the core cluster of the subtype. However, as Influenza virus are fast-evolving microorganisms, the inclusivity cannot be ensured for some new clonal strains of the virus.
