The Real Time PCR detection Kit Avian Mycoplasmosis Panel (Mycoplpasma gallisepticum and Mycoplasmopsis synoviae) comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Mycoplasma gallisepticum and Mycoplasma synoviae detection by using qPCR.

GENERAL INFORMATION:Mycoplasma is a bacterial genus which lacks a cell wall around the cell membrane. This genus also lacks murein, making them naturally resistant to antibiotics that target cell wall synthesis. Mycoplasma gallisepticum is the causative agent of chronic respiratory disease in chickens and infectious sinusitis in turkeys, chickens, game birds, pigeons, and passerine birds of all ages. M. gallisepticum is transmitted through the eggs of carrier hens. Mycoplasma synoviae can cause subclinical upper respiratory infections in birds, being the most usual hosts chickens and turkeys. Joint lesions and neurological signs can also be observed. This pathogen is of economic relevance for the poultry industry because infection can cause a drop in egg production. Transmission occurs both vertically and horizontally.
