Real Time PCR Detection Kit Capripoxvirus Panel

The Real Time PCR detection Kit Capripoxvirus Panel (Sheeppox virus and Goatpox virus) comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Sheeppox virus and Goatpox virus detection by using qPCR.

GENERAL INFORMATION:Capripoxvirus genus of the Poxviridae family contains three closely related species: Goatpox virus, Sheeppox virus and Lumpy skin disease virus. The serological distinction between these viruses is not possible and must be afforded by different DNA techniques. Goatpoxvirus disease is characterized by fever, papules, nodular and sometimes pustular lesions on the skin. Transmission is usually by aerosol after close contact with severely affected animals containing ulcerated papules on the mucous membranes. Sheeppox is a serious, often fatal, and highly contagious disease characterized by widespread skin eruption. Sheeppox is the most severe of all the pox diseases of animals and must be differentiated from the milder infection, contagious ecthyma. Goatpox and Sheeppox are found in the part of northern Africa, the Middle East, Central Asia, and India.
