The Real Time PCR detection Kit Clostridioides difficile Toxin A (tcdA) comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Clostridioides difficile Toxin A (tcdA) detection by using qPCR.

GENERAL INFORMATION:Clostridioides difficile (formerly Clostridium difficile) is a Gram-positive, anaerobic and motile bacterium with the ability to form spores. This species is often found in the environment, but infections only occur under certain conditions, for instance with a sustained use of antibiotics. This is because the natural microbiome of the human gut can prevent C. difficile infection, but antibiotics may alter the usual functioning of this defensive mechanism. This bacterium causes an infection of the large intestine, being diarrhoea the most common symptom. C. difficile can produce toxin A, a large enterotoxin capable of damaging the intestinal mucosa and of acting as a cytotoxin.
