The Real Time PCR detection Kit Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli Triplex (Escherichia coli Shiga toxin 1, Shiga toxin 2 & Intimine (eae)) comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Escherichia coli Shiga toxin 1, Shiga toxin 2 & Intimine (eae) detection by using multiplexed qPCR.

GENERAL INFORMATION:Escherichia coli is a Gram-negative anaerobic bacterium that normally found in the intestines of humans and animals. Most E. coli strains are harmless and play an essential role in maintaining a healthy human intestinal tract. However, some strains are pathogenic, meaning they can cause illness, including diarrhoea or infections outside the intestinal tract. The types of E. coli that can cause diarrhoea can be transmitted through contaminated food or water, or by contact with infected animals or humans. Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) are pathogenic strain of E. coli distinguished by its production of Shiga toxins (Stx1 and Stx2) and its ability to cause severe gastrointestinal illness. The eae gene is required for intimate attachment to epithelial cells, playing a critical role in pathogenesis.
