The Real Time PCR detection Kit Feline Multisystemic Pathogens Panel (Feline Herpesvirus 1 and Chlamydia felis, C. psittaci, C. abortus) comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for Feline herpesvirus 1 and Chlamydia felis, C. psittaci, C. abortus detection by using qPCR.

GENERAL INFORMATION:Chlamydia are intracellular Gram-negative bacterium belonging to the Chlamydiaceae family. Chlamydia felis is endemic among house cats worldwide, primarily causing inflammation of feline conjunctiva, rhinitis, and respiratory problems. Zoonotic infection of humans with C. felis has been reported. Chlamydia psittaci is a lethal intracellular bacterial species that may cause endemic avian chlamydiosis, epizootic outbreaks in mammals, and respiratory psittacosis in humans. C. abortus is the most common cause of infectious abortion in small ruminants (sheep and goats). It also causes abortion in cattle and pigs and represents a significant zoonotic risk to pregnant women. Feline herpesvirus type 1 is a causative agent of feline viral rhinotracheitis and belongs to the subfamily Alphaherpesvirinae of the family Herpesviridae. Feline herpesvirus type 1 is distributed worldwide and is the most clinically significant agent for respiratory infections in cats.
