The Real Time PCR Detection Kit Panel Human Viral Respiratory Diseases comprises a series of specific targeted reagents designed for CoVID-19, Human influenza type A and B virus, Human respiratory syncytial virus A/B and Human metapneumovirus detection by using qPCR.

GENERAL INFORMATION:Human viral respiratory diseases are primarily caused by enveloped RNA viruses. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), responsible for CoVID-19, is a single-stranded RNA virus belonging to the Coronaviridae family and the Betacoronavirus genus.

Human influenza A (HIAV) and Human influenza B (HIBV) viruses are single-stranded, segmented RNA viruses belonging to the Orthomyxoviridae family and Alphainfluenzavirus and Betainfluenzavirus genera respectively. Human respiratory syncytial virus (HRSV) and Human metapneumovirus (HMPV), both from the Pneumoviridae family, are single-stranded RNA viruses belonging to the Orthopneumovirus and Metapneumovirus genera respectively. Due to the wide diversity of Human respiratory syncytial virus strains, the species has been classified in two major groups: HRSV-A and HRSV-B.

These viruses primarily infect the human respiratory tract, causing illnesses ranging from mild upper respiratory symptoms to severe lower respiratory complications such as pneumonia, bronchiolitis, and acute respiratory distress syndrome, particularly in infants, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals. Transmission predominantly occurs via respiratory droplets and direct contact with contaminated surfaces. In some cases, it also occurs via aerosolised particles, contributing to their rapid spread and global prevalence. Surveillance and rapid molecular detection of these pathogens are essential for timely diagnosis, outbreak control and the public health response.
